Fegans is  working hard to make sure we can continue to support as many families as possible during this time of Coronavirus lockdown, so we are now offering online counselling to young people in year 7 and above.

As the nation’s schools have shut, it is hard for children and young people to access the support they may have been having in school, so we are pleased to say that we are now taking counselling referrals for online counselling to start after the Easter holidays.

The sessions will be delivered by our qualified therapists using Zoom video conferencing technology during standard office hours and charged at the usual rate of £48 per hour.*

Zoom counselling is just like having face-to-face counselling, except you talk to a counsellor online using a secure video link.

Zoom is easy to download and access. All you need is a computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone that has a webcam and a microphone and a reliable internet connection.

The benefits of accessing counselling this way are: –

– You can access counselling directly from the comfort of your home or office, without having to travel to your appointment.

– You are able to see and hear your counsellor, and they you, so the experience is very close to that of face-to-face counselling.

– You can live anywhere in the UK and access our zoom counselling service.

– Zoom offers encrypted security, making it more confidential than Skype or face time.

– Zoom counselling offers a safe and supportive place to talk about your thoughts, feelings and experiences, with no judgement.

– Our Counsellors at Fegans are specifically trained to work with children and adults and are members of the BACP and adhere to their professional code of ethics.

– At Fegans we work with children and parents who are anxious, or have suffered or simply need support during a difficult time. Through working with us your child (or you, if you are the one having counselling), will become more resilient and develop strategies to manage the pressures they are under.

– Whilst we do charge for our services Fegans is a charity and we do have a bursary to support those who need support at this time.

– Our counsellors work in a private confidential space and we ask that you do too, so that privacy and confidentiality is maintained.

– Zoom counselling is available to anyone over the age of 10 years. If you are under 18, we will need the parent to complete the referral and to also give their consent for the counselling contract.

NB: Confidentiality is assured within our counselling, however if there is harm or threatened harm to self or others, the counsellor will need to break confidentiality. Additionally, if child protection/abuse issues are disclosed, these will need to be referred on to the appropriate authorities.

To make a referral please fill in a referral form We will be in contact with you to book a phone call with a counsellor to get further details. We will then be able to book your child’s first session.
