“I am not a runner…I never have been since heaving my 14 and 1/2 stone frame for 26 miles is not a recipe for any kind of fun. But on Sunday I ran the London Marathon…not for me, not even for my charity. I ran so that through our One Life campaign, everyone of us could get a chance to give directly to hurting families and vulnerable children. During that amazing five plus hours (I told you I’m not a runner) I didn’t stop, not even once…..fueled by the crowd, the best wishes and prayers of friends and family and the need to raise funds so we can see more children. My body was given clear instructions to be quiet, and literally focus on the children.
“I was running for the One Life Campaign…a fund set up by Fegans so that we can provide the very best therapeutic care to self-harming children, to those who are thinking of suicide, have eating disorders or have given up hope so that we can restore that hope. I was running for parents who have no-where else to turn to and are desperately seeking solutions to really challenging home lives. I was running because I believe that we can all have a part in making a real, tangible difference to peoples lives…and at its heart, that is what the One Life campaign is all about.

“Today my body is sore….but my heart is full because enough people gave so generously that we will be able to impact many more lives, people who will get their One Life back. So if seeing real transformation in children’s lives is what your heart is longing for, give into the One Life Campaign.”
