Maidstone – Proms in the Park comes to Whatman Park, Maidstone on Saturday, May 25th from 3pm to 8pm. Little ones will be entertained throughout the afternoon, with Punch and Judy, face painting, a bubble artist and mix and mingle magic. There will also be an arts and crafts table and visitors of all ages are encouraged to bring chairs, picnics and blankets to enjoy the event.
Dover – The atmosphere of the 1940s comes to the castle on Saturday, May 25 until Bank Holiday Monday with Second World War treats, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the D Day landings, arena shows and vintage army vehicles. Life on the Home Front features with a beauty parlour and a brew from the Naafi wagon. There will also be live music from the Swingtime Sweethearts. For more, click here.
Faversham – Little ones can walk through the orchards of the National Fruit Collection at Faversham with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust during half term on Wednesday, May 29. They’ll be able to learn all about different species of bumblebee, pollination and fruit trees. The walks, at 10am and 1pm, are suitable for ages five and over, who need to be accompanied by an adult. If you have an annual pass to Brogdale, it is free. More details at brogdalecollections.org
Chatham – A swashbuckling adventure awaits as the exhibition arrives from the V&A Museum of Childhood from Saturday, May 25 to Sunday, June 2, exploring the history and impact of pirates in children’s culture with toys, books, illustrations, games, costumes and photographs. Herne Bay – There will be daily talks and activities throughout half term at the woodland discovery park, which is home to more than 50 species of native British animals from deer to badgers and wild boar to wolves and brown bears. There will be a trail and animal mask making and even the chance to meet the animals. While at the site, children can go wild in the adventure playground with Kent’s biggest drop slide, tube slide, wild fort and tree top towers. Margate – There will be a host of nautical and nostalgic fun from Saturday, May 25 to Sunday, June 2. The Ships and Giggles festivities include nautical face painting, Ozzy the Octopus, a hoola-hooping mermaid and pesky pirates exploring the park and Phileas Fogg and his travelling balloon on Thursday, May 30.
